Student Bios

Aroonsri Khamsamran HeadshotAroonsri Khamsamran - Videographer

Aroonsri is a senior, majoring in Interdisciplinary Film & Digital Media, with a concentration in Production. She is currently the director of Jubilation, IFDM’s Senior Capstone film project. She grew up in Thailand and the US, and enjoys incorporating various cultures and experiences into her film projects.  She is an avid artist, photographer, and has won awards for cooking and culinary arts.  When not working on film projects, she likes to spend time in outdoor activities, such as hiking, rock climbing, swimming and scuba diving. Following graduation she plans to pursue film production and direction.


Jacob Blom – Sound DirectorJacob Blom Headshot

Jacob is a senior, graduating with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Audio Production & Digital Media. He is a teaching assistant for Location Audio Techniques and Creative Design Thinking. Besides being the Sound Director for UNM’s Institutional Spot he also interns with IFDM’s Recording Engineer on the weekends, helping record bands and musicians at Mesa del Sol’s studio. He has also co-taught the audio portion of an animation camp geared towards youths aged 8-16. He works for UNM’s IFDM program, desigNV, and The County Line. In his spare time he enjoys producing music, DJ’ing, graphic design and photography. He plans to continue his career in audio production and digital media, and hopes to do many more projects for commercials, movies, and digital media in the future.

Shaandiin Tome is a senior in the Interdisciplinary Film & Digital Media Program, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Production. She has worked on multiple film sets, including both student and major motion pictures. She works to be an example and incite people of all ages to see their own potential, culture, perspective, and emotion through the medium of film. While attending UNM, she has gathered the knowledge that is necessary to continue her path in the film industry. She is excited at the opportunity to assist in promoting the University because she believes the positive experience she has gained at UNM will allow others to find and fuel their passion.

Trace Rucarean - Creative Director 

Trace is a junior in his second year in the IFDM program with a minor in Business Entrepreneurship. He moved to Albuquerque from Gainesville, Florida, and attributes a lot of that decision to his favorite show, Breaking Bad. Since moving here he has fallen in love with the mountains, snowboarding, green chile, and of course UNM. Trace currently holds a job as a marketing intern for UNM’s Communication and Marketing department where his duties include writing and publishing articles for UNM’s news website, as well as shooting and editing videos for the department. Ultimately he aspires to become a Hollywood screenwriter and director. He looks forward to bringing his unique non-New Mexico native perspective to his role as Creative Director and to attract other out-of-staters like himself.


Zach Zahorik Headshot

Zach Zahorik – Producer

Zach is from Colorado and came to UNM to major in Film and Digital Media while minoring in Business Management. He is a junior, and in the far future, hopes to be a Production Manager or Producer for films and television shows. Over the last two summers, he has assisted two different reality television companies in creating programming for Discovery, HGTV, and the Travel Channel. He recently led the creation and organization of the first student run film festival for UNM. In his free time, he enjoys macro photography and hiking.
